The gotchas
The /pricing page advertises 'Simple, transparent pricing... No hidden fees' and shows only 10% + $0.50 and 30%. The fees help article is the only place that says processing is extra. On a $10 direct sale the stated pieces add to roughly $2.09, about 21%, not 10.5%. Discover's 30% is the one that genuinely includes processing.

You must have completed at least one normal payout and your Stripe account must have been processing with Gumroad for at least 60 days. The daily payout schedule rides the same rail, so it inherits the same 60-day rule and additionally needs 4 prior payouts. Some debit cards are simply not eligible and the only fix is a different card.
gumroad.com checked 2026-09-04Emigrating, or switching payout method in a way that needs a new connected account, destroys unpaid amounts stuck on the old country-specific connected account. Gumroad must name the amount and make you type 'I understand' first, and will not process a country change while a payout is in progress. Amounts sitting in Gumroad's own payment accounts are not forfeited.

Entering a Payoneer account in payout settings does not work - Gumroad says creators who tried were never paid properly and had to start over on PayPal. If neither bank nor PayPal reaches your country, Gumroad cannot pay you.
gumroad.com checked 2026-09-04PayPal is the fallback where bank payouts do not exist, and it carries a 2% processing fee that bank payouts do not. Where Gumroad also has no bank rail - Zambia, Syria, Russia, Iraq 'and a number of others' - there is no way to be paid unless the PayPal account is registered elsewhere. A payout rejected for that reason is not retried; the balance simply sits on the account.

Euro bank accounts move on Wednesday, so a Wednesday payout on the 26th covers the same sales as a Friday payout on the 28th. Expecting money on Friday and not seeing it is Gumroad's own most-reported false alarm.

They are also excluded from the 1099-K Gumroad files, and Gumroad says those forms come from Stripe and PayPal directly.
