The rules

RuleWhat the help page saysSource
Hold period7 days standard, extendable to 28 days
Policy §2.2 verbatim: 'The standard Pending Period is seven (7) days, but this may be extended up to twenty-eight (28) days depending on factors such as account verification and user activity. The applicable Pending Period is determined by our internal fraud and risk systems, and is subject to change without notice.' A separate help article adds a longer hold that is not in the policy: if the paying fan has not verified their email the payment 'can be on held for 30 days'.

Payout dayon demand
Help article 'How to receive a payout on Fanvue': 'Go to "Earnings & Payouts", Select "Request Payout"... Enter the amount you'd like to withdraw and click "Request Payout"!' Policy §2.1: 'You may request a Payout of your available Creator Balance at any time', subject to the Pending Period and the minimum threshold. No automatic or scheduled payout run is documented anywhere in the help centre or the legal hub.

Review / approvalNew payout methods sit 'In review' for up to 24 hours before they can be used
'How to manage payout options': 'Your new method will show as In review while it goes through a security check. This can take up to 24 hours, though it's often quicker. You'll see the exact time remaining when you go to “request a payout”.' A method cannot be used or set as default while In review. Before a first payout you must also have uploaded at least 5 pieces of content and verified any co-creators featured in your content. Only the creator - not agencies or managers on the account - can add, change or remove payout methods.

Platform share20% platform fee - creator keeps 80% (85% for the first month only)
Policy §1.2: 'the standard Creator Earning Rate is 80% of gross revenue from Paid-for Services, with the remaining 20% retained by Fanvue as Platform Fees.' §1.3 allows a 'Promotional Earning Rate': 'a temporary, fixed-period uplift... may be introduced, updated, extended, reduced, or withdrawn at Fanvue's discretion.' The live fanvue.com FAQ states the current promo: 'With Fanvue you take home 85% of your earnings for your first month, 80% thereafter.' There is no first-year 85% rate. The old 2022 85% rate is retired with no grandfathering.

Payout currencyBalance and thresholds in USD; payout currencies are not published
The payout minimum is quoted as '$20 in your Available Balance' across every payout help article, so the creator balance is USD-denominated. The payout fees article says only that 'The fee varies depending on which payout method you use and the currency of your account' - it does not list which account currencies exist. Bank transfer collects region-specific details (US routing number, Canadian institute/branch number, European IBAN/BIC, Australian BSB) but Fanvue nowhere states what currency lands in the account or who does the conversion.

Bank statement showsfanvue.com (fan-side card descriptor; creator payout descriptor not published)
'All Fanvue transactions appear as fanvue.com on your bank or card statement. This is the same regardless of the type of payment, subscription, pay-per-view content, tip, or any other purchase on the platform.' And: 'The charge will show as fanvue.com - there is no other brand name, creator name, or further description shown. This is intentional to protect the privacy of all users.' This is the descriptor a fan sees on an incoming charge. Fanvue publishes nothing about how an outgoing creator payout is labelled on the creator's own bank statement.

US withholdingNone - earnings are paid gross, no US withholding for non-US creators
Help centre: 'Fanvue does NOT withhold any taxes on behalf of the creator, like some other platforms do. All earnings are paid out upfront and included in the available balance.' Policy §3.1: 'Creator Earnings are paid gross of tax.' But §3.2 reserves the right: 'We may collect or withhold taxes where required by law and will provide relevant documentation (e.g. self-billing invoices, VAT invoices, 1099's etc.) where applicable', and §3.3 warns that 'failure to [provide accurate tax documentation] may result in delayed or withheld Payouts'.

Tax form before payoutYes - tax interview (W-9 for US, W-8BEN / W-8BEN-E for non-US) before any payout
'All creators requesting payouts must first confirm their tax status.' US creators complete a W-9; non-US creators complete a W-8BEN (individuals) or W-8BEN-E (entities). 'If you don't complete your tax information, you'll be unable to request payouts until it's done. This applies to all creators, as everyone needs to confirm their tax status. You'll have a grace period to complete it before payouts are paused.' US creators meeting IRS thresholds ($20,000 in gross payments AND 200+ transactions for 2025 onward) get a 1099-K by January 31 of the following year.

AlsoBalance is an unsecured debt, and goes dormant after 12 months of no payout request
Policy §2.8.6: 'Creator Balances are contractual receivables owed by Fanvue; they are not held on trust, not client money, and not electronic money or deposits.' §2.8.2: for UK/EEA creators, if you do not request a payout or submit a valid invoice within twelve (12) months, the balance is classified Dormant and 'you are deemed to have irrevocably waived your right to payment of the Dormant amount and we may close the balance and retain it', with discretionary reinstatement for claims made within six (6) years. §2.8.4 applies the same rule to Rest-of-World creators. Two reminders are sent at ~9 and ~11 months.
legal.fanvue.com checked 2026-09-04
AlsoUS: dormant balances are escheated to the state, and the 1099-K reports gross, not what you were paid
Policy §2.8.3: US balances are classified Dormant after twelve (12) months of no payout or invoice activity; if the creator does not respond before the state dormancy period expires ('typically 3-5 years, state-dependent') Fanvue will 'report and remit the balance to the appropriate state unclaimed property authority', reclaimable from that authority - 'Contract terms cannot waive these statutory obligations.' Separately, 'The amounts on a 1099-K reflect your gross earnings before any fees, refunds, or chargebacks are deducted. This means the number will be higher than what actually hit your bank account.'

The gotchas

Pending is 7 days only if the fan verified their email - otherwise 30 days

'Pending vs Available Balance' verbatim: 'The process typically takes 7 days to complete, however, if fans haven't verified their email, the payment can be on held for 30 days, which means creators will have to wait to see the balance going up.' This 30-day hold appears in no legal document - the Creator Earnings & Payouts policy only knows about 7 days extendable to 28. The creator has no visibility into, or control over, whether a given fan verified their email, so a share of every month's revenue clears on an unpredictable schedule.

Once money reaches Cosmo, Fanvue support cannot see or chase it

'Cosmo manages all of the payments from their side and for privacy, we don't have access to invoices from Cosmo. If you have an issue with your payout or your Cosmo balance, you need to reach out to Cosmo support. We are not allowed to reach out for you as Cosmo will only give information to the account holder (yourself).' The one exception is a reversal while funds still sit in the eWallet: 'If you've withdrawn to your Cosmo eWallet and the funds are still in your Cosmo balance, our team can help reverse those funds back to your Fanvue balance.' Payout is keyed on the Cosmo SAN number registered at cosmopayment.com.

Crypto is the only rail with a Fanvue-side fee: 1% via TripleA

'TripleA - the fee is 1%. Currently, the only payout provider that carries a Fanvue fee is TripleA.' Timing: 'At the point of requesting a payout, the fee is deducted from your withdrawal amount, not taken from your balance in advance. Your balance always shows the full amount available to withdraw - the fee is only applied when you request a payout.' The article promises the net figure is shown pre-confirmation: 'Before you confirm your withdrawal, you'll see the fee amount and the net amount you'll receive clearly displayed.' Fanvue does not store the wallet address; the payout method toggle just enables TripleA.

MassPay is a two-hop payout - Fanvue pays the eWallet, then MassPay charges you again to cash out

Fanvue's payout only reaches the MassPay eWallet balance; the creator then withdraws from MassPay to a bank, card or crypto. 'When withdrawing on MassPay, it's important to note that they charge a small service fee that varies depending on the payout method and location (this fee can be as small as $1).' And: 'Note: Fanvue is not responsible for any fees accrued when withdrawing your earnings.' Recovery is possible while funds are still in the eWallet: Fanvue support 'can help reverse those funds back to your Fanvue balance'.

PayPal is not a payout option, and no Paxum either

Payout methods article, last line: 'At this time Paypal is not available on Fanvue, although should anything change an update will be released.' Paxum is not mentioned on any live Fanvue help page (checked the full help-centre sitemap, 115 articles). The complete published set of payout rails is: bank transfer, MassPay eWallet, Cosmo eWallet and crypto (TripleA), with 'MAKE' referenced once as an additional method addable inside the payout request flow.

Two different SLAs in two live documents; the policy is the contractual one.
